Rules for using this site and the future platform

1. What this is about

NAOS is a matchmaking platform for Eastern Orthodox Christians, currently in preparation. This page serves solely to join the waiting list and to receive progress updates. The app does not yet exist and is not available for use.

By using this site you accept the terms stated here. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. Who may sign up

Signing up is intended for adults. By leaving your details you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

3. What signing up does and does not mean

Joining the waiting list does not create a contractual relationship, does not grant a right of access to the future app, and does not give you any advantage over other users. It means only that we will inform you about progress and about the launch of the platform.

You may withdraw at any time, by a message to info@joinnaos.com.

4. Accuracy of details

The details you leave should be accurate. We reserve the right to remove sign-ups that are clearly false, abusive, or entered automatically.

5. The future service and payment

The intention is that introductions, profiles and decisions will be free, with no time limit, and that a subscription will open writing in a conversation and nothing else. The terms of use for the app, the prices and the method of payment will be published before launch and will form a separate document which you will accept separately. Until then, everything stated about how the app works is a description of intent, not a binding promise.

6. Rules of conduct

Once the app is launched, it will not permit impersonation, harassment of other users, sharing other people’s details or photos, commercial advertising, or content that offends faith, dignity or the law. A breach leads to removal of the account without a refund.

7. Child safety

Zero tolerance. NAOS does not tolerate any content or conduct that sexually abuses or exploits children. This includes child sexual abuse material, grooming a child into meeting or into sending photographs, depicting a child in a sexualised way, and any attempt to reach a child through NAOS. An account that does any of this is closed permanently, without warning and without a refund.

Adults only. No profile can be created without a date of birth, and registration stops for anyone under 18. An account is opened with a phone number or an e-mail address and a one-time code, so one person cannot multiply into dozens of accounts. There is also verification by a selfie taken live in the app and compared with the photos on the profile — which also makes misrepresenting one's age harder.

Reporting. In every conversation, in the menu at the top right, there is Report behaviour. The report reaches a person, not a program, and carries any messages the reporter chooses to attach. A report concerning the safety of a child takes precedence over all others and is handled without delay. Reports can also be sent outside the app, to info@joinnaos.com; people without an account may write too.

What happens when a report arrives. The account is disabled and removed from suggestions while the review lasts. Content and data needed for the case are preserved separately and are not deleted when the usual retention periods expire. The case is reported to the competent authorities — in Serbia the Department for Combating High-Tech Crime of the Ministry of the Interior, and outside Serbia the authorities of the country where the offence took place, including NCMEC where that is the reporting route. The reported person is never told who reported them.

Why NAOS is different here. On NAOS nobody browses profiles or scrolls through other people's photographs. A person sees one other person at a time, and only the one the platform has suggested. A conversation exists only once both have agreed. There is no public profile, no search by name, no messaging of strangers — and therefore no path by which an adult could choose whom to contact.

8. Intellectual property

The name NAOS, the texts, the design and the graphic work on this site are our property. They may not be copied or used without written consent.

9. Liability

The site is used as it is. We try to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the absence of errors. We are not liable for damage arising from the site being unavailable or from reliance on information taken from it.

NAOS makes introductions, but does not guarantee that you will meet a suitable person, nor is it liable for the conduct of other users outside the platform.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms as the project progresses. Changes take effect on the day they are published on this page, and the date of the last change is always shown at the top.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. We seek to resolve disputes by agreement; failing that, the competent court in the Republic of Serbia has jurisdiction.

12. SMS messages

When you enter your phone number in the NAOS app, we send you a single message containing a one-time verification code — at the moment you request it, and only to the number you entered yourself. We send no marketing, no notifications and no recurring messages of any kind.

Message and data rates may apply, according to your carrier. You may reply STOP to opt out of these messages, or HELP for help. For any question, write to info@joinnaos.com.

13. Account deletion

In the app, without contacting anyone. Open NAOS, go to Settings, tap Delete account in the Privacy group, and confirm with Delete account permanently. The account is switched off immediately: it disappears from suggestions, conversations close, and nobody can see you.

If you cannot sign in, write to info@joinnaos.com from the e-mail address or phone number you used, and we will delete the account for you.

Deleting individual data without closing your account. A conversation is deleted by tapping End conversation — messages, voice messages and attachments disappear immediately, for both of you. A photo is removed on your profile by tapping Remove photo; a profile needs at least four photos, so add another one as you remove it. For anything else, write to us and we will delete it, except what we are required by law to keep.

Permanently deleted after 30 days: your profile, photos, voice messages, conversation messages and attachments, face verification recordings, and subscription data. Your phone number and e-mail address are released immediately, so you can register again with the same number whenever you wish.

Why 30 days: that is the window for changing your mind, and for cases where fraud comes to light afterwards. During it the account is off and invisible. After that no record remains by which you could be recognised.
